Hi. Thank you for proposing to update weather portal. Currently, we don't have one, so I'll ask the community in the local Water Cooler page. We will need to decide, for example, which cities to include in the weather report.

I asked the community if they liked the idea. Among the questions was: what cities they want to see in the Portal? do we want to create a small corner for weather portal on the Main Page? If yes, then can the template on the Main Page display the weather in a random city or, even better, to display the weather in the city nearest to the user who currently sees the page.

As for me, I like the idea, as far as your bot will keep updating the data. I am really grateful to you for this proposal. I plan to wait for about a week, and if the proposal is accepted I will be happy if you help us designing the Portal. I think it should list at least the capitals of the Arab countries, and I expect the others to agree to this.

I translated some of what you asked me to. But I found I don't know many of weather terms, so I asked for help at Water cooler page. Now I am waiting for someone to come and help me.

About months and weekdays, I think you can make use of the {{#time:}} parser function: it can give you month and day names in the language you need. For example:

• {{#time:F|now|ar}} → أبريل
• {{#time:F|now|fa}} → آوریل
• {{#time:l|now|ar}} → الجمعة
• {{#time:l|now|fa}} → جمعه
• {{#time:l|now + 1 days|ar}} → السبت
• {{#time:l|now + 1 days|fa}} → شنبه
• {{#time:l|now + 2 days|ar}} → الأحد
• {{#time:l|now + 2 days|fa}} → یکشنبه
• {{#time:F|now + 4 months|ar}} → أغسطس

Yes, great. A few comments:

1. in Arabic projects, we use Arabic numerals (0, 1, 2, etc.), and even when we use Hindi numerals, they are a little different from those used in Farsi (e.g., ‎٤‎ ‎٥‎ ‎٦, not‎ ‎۴‎ ‎۵‎ ‎۶).
2. The degree sign should show after the number, if technically possible.
3. Can we change the phrase for maximum and minimum temperature so that it becomes "Temperature maximum: X°; minimum: Y°"? Because in Arabic temperature is translated with two words, something like "step of the heat".
4. Please add spaces between day, month and year in update time.
5. Please add Template:تع after update time (Arabic projects use UTC). Alternatively, the bot may use signature timestamp using five tildes (~~~~~). It signs time without user (bot) name.

I am going to translate as much as I can of weather terms, so please update bot vocabulary from time to time.

Now it is much better. I discovered I misplaced some translations, now they have been corrected.

About weather: The degree symbol is still 'before' the number. The numerals are OK. In 'Tomorrow' column a space is needed between minimum and maximum temperature.

Repeating yesterday's question: can tomorrow and after tomorrow's weather be formatted not as

minimum temperature: 7°C maximum temperature 13°C

but like:

minimum temperature: 7°C; maximum: 13°C

Because this will take less space.

Nearly there! A minor error: there is a space before the semicolon (؛) but no space after it; should be the other way round.

I also have wishes that are not very necessary, i.e. they are optional.

1. First, can the words that describe weather be hidden and only appear as a hint if you place the mouse over the weather picture? e.g., if you place the mouse on the sun picture it says 'sunny', and so on?
2. Second, because we are likely to have many cities in many countries, it may be worth to:

• add a column for countries
• make city and country columns sortable
• enable sort keys so that definite article ال is neglected. I can help with this. An example is in the table on this page: note that in «المصدر» column «الجزيرة نت» comes after, not before «بي بي سي», and «شبكة محيط» is sorted by «محيط». Likewise, in country and city names «الجزائر» should be sorted by ج not by aleph.

The new table is great, although a bit huge. But the idea is clear. We only need to sort the first two columns: city and country.

What do you think about making a template with subpages for each city? I don't know yet how to implement this. Need to consult someone who is a template professional. If this is possible, it would be easy to add a new city and to make it either a row in a table or a box on the Main page.

I edited the temperatures in User talk:Mahdiz/test2. I couldn't translate "high" because I don't understand what it meant. Can you help?
